De acordo com informações do Lótus do Saber e da Ordem Ramakrishna, a canção foi inspirada por Swami Vivekananda. Conta G.Harrison que, “em sua ânsia na busca de Deus, Vivekananda perguntou a vários pundits e saddhus: … O senhor viu Deus? E quando a pergunta foi feita a Sri Ramakrishna ele respondeu - Sim, e você também pode vê-lo”.
